EDM Wire Erosion Technician
Based in Tipton, West Midlands
£35000 – £40000 package
Calling all experienced Wire EDM professionals!
We are seeking a EDM Wire Erosion technician to work for a leading engineering company based in Tipton, West Midlands.
The company operate within various arenas including aerospace, defence and automotive sectors, having built a reputation for quality of service over 30 years.
The company is growing and needs skilled staff to help achieve its longer term goals. This role of EDM Wire Erosion technician is ready to start and full training on specific methods will be provided.
Contract and benefits of EDM Wire Erosion technician:
- Permanent Role
- 38 hour week – Monday – Friday 0700 – 1600, Friday 0700 – 1200
- Package upto £40,000 pa
- Overtime of 1.33 during week, 1.5 Saturday and 2 x basic Sundays

The Role of EDM Wire Erosion technician:
- Perform precision EDM Wire Erosion operations to high standards
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to create components from specifications
- Create various components for defence, automotive, aerospace sectors
- Produce programs using offline software (training can be provided)
- Work towards continuous improvement and 5s culture
Key skills required for EDM Wire Erosion technician:
- Worked with EDM wire erosion machines previously
- Proficient in setting and operating EDM Wire Erosion machines
- Competency in offline programming (RoboCam or similar software).
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proactive, innovative, and team-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Flexibility to adapt and support broader manufacturing activities.
