The Opportunity is for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our client in Spacecraft Propulsion assembly and integration to work on exciting new and existing space projects!!

How you will contribute

Responsible for the ‘design for manufacture’ activities for the pipework sub-assemblies and their integration into the propulsion system.

The creation of detailed work instructions for production.

A knowledge of orbital TIG welding on small bore pipework under cleanroom conditions

Responsible for ensuring that our working modes and processes are standardised, optimised and current

Support Operations on any production queries or non-quality issues

Definition of tooling / build aids for manufacturing execution

Responsible for identifying potential process improvements within the process perimeter and support R&D activities

Training module creation and maintenance

Support quality reviews and provide technical input

Able to support ME activities for onward mechanical installations as required, this mainly involves bolted or bonded installations.

Able to work with digital manufacturing systems for the creation of the MBOMs from the design EBOM and to work within the design tool to manipulate and capture images from 3d Models. Use of MRP systems

Experience working in accordance with defined standards and specifications for quality and performance controls

High self-motivation and the ability to deal with changing priorities on a multi project basis. Ability to work to deadlines is essential.

A team player within a multi-functional ME team and an ability to liaise and communicate at all levels

About you

Qualifications: Minimum HNC level in an associated discipline

Targeting: Aerospace or Medical equipment industry experience

Desirable Requirements:

An understanding of spacecraft manufacturing and build philosophies

An understanding of metallurgical considerations within the TIG welding process

Appreciation for the technical constraints of high pressure systems

Ready to embrace and work closely with digital systems
