maintenance and restoration services, RISAS approved bogie line, plus advanced
track focused infrastructure services, rail grinding and innovative maintenance of
way carried out from their 100,000 sq. ft. of service facilities located in Derby. They
are uniquely qualified to support both vehicular and on-track engineering and
maintenance needs for the industry across the UK and internationally. 
ROLE SUMMARY:
Mixing paints, matching colors, preparation of surfaces, application of primers and topcoats
to rail vehicles and their components.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Technician-Painter
 Responsible for preparation rail vehicles, components, and assemblies prior to
painting.
 Good understanding and application of tasks involved with removing old paint, filling,
sanding, and applying primers.
 Application of paint by spray, hand or roller method.
 Sound understanding in the achieving of minimum and average dry paint thicknesses
in accordance with specific job requirements and targets.
 Mixing of paints and other materials according to specification or formula.
 Ensure the facility and painting equipment are maintained and in good working
order.
 Solid understanding of different paint types and application methods.
 Employing heat or oven drying techniques for paint drying.
 Work in accordance with company systems and procedures.
 Work in accordance with applicable targets and production schedules.
 Maintain general knowledge of working systems and variations.
 Comply with all safety, quality and environmental systems and responsibilities,
including OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001.
 Ensure good housekeeping (cleanliness and tidiness of working environment).
 Demonstrate a pro-active approach to Continuous Improvements initiatives.
 Participate in competency assessment programs as required.

Reporting and Analysis
 Recording full, complete and accurate details of work performed.

Strategic and Functional Processes
 Achieve required levels of productivity, quality and delivery.
 Work at remote locations as required.
 Provide on-call support as required.
